I did NOT expect shiitakes to colonize almost as fast as cubes do, but I am pleasantly surprised to be incorrect!
These shiitakes seem to have very strong genetics because the mycelium is taking over my grain jars after only two weeks! Super excited to transplant these colonized grains into a sterile hardwood dust in just a couple days!
I recently purchased the Pink Oyster liquid culture, and I am beyond impressed with its performance. Shipping was fast, and the packaging is gorgeous. This has been some of the best Liquid Culture I've seen and the growth on millet has been explosive! Not only that, but I wasn't aware there was a sale going on and I was messaged to inform me of the sale and that I could pick out an additional syringe and she would change my order, which she absolutely didn't have to do. Fantastic customer service!
I ordered these melmacs in what happened to be the middle of a WILD, triple digit heatwave. I had sent an email to support about the usual shipping times as it was my first order through Lady Hyphae; and not only was I pleasantly surprised to find my order was being shipped out that very next day which was great, but here’s where they went over and above!!
I did not mention where I live or the temperatures forecasted, yet they had the thought and initiative to look into my local areas weather and again; without any prompt from myself they stated that they would be certain to include a complimentary ice pack to help keep the temperature controlled!
Package arrived quickly and despite the ice pack I was slightly afraid of what might happen, but here I am staring at two beautifully and very quickly expanding networks of mycelium.

The mushroom liquid culture performed exceptionally well, completely colonizing the grain in just nine days. The price was very reasonable, and the shipping was impressively fast. These cooling packs are useful for liquid culture syringe transport. These specific ones I received can also be reused for other things like cooling your forehead while experiencing 105 degree weather or helping my coconut water stay cold when I'm working.
