Product Description

Casper is a modern Psilocybe cubensis cross with lineage tracing to MakShak and Albino Penis Envy (APE). Its name is fitting: Casper produces remarkably pale fruiting bodies that can develop cool gray and blue tones, giving mature specimens an unmistakably ghostlike appearance.

Its genetics bring together two already distinctive lines. APE contributes its albino lineage and dense, unusual morphology, while MakShak adds another layer of genetic complexity to the cross. Casper has since become recognizable enough to serve as a parent genetic in the development of newer varieties, including crosses such as Stargate.

For microscopy researchers and genetic collectors, Casper stands apart for its modern hybrid lineage, unusual pigmentation, and dramatic phenotype.

Strain spotlight

About this strain

Casper is commonly documented as a cross between MakShak and Albino Penis Envy (APE), with the original development attributed within the mycology community is unknown.

The genetic is characterized by exceptionally pale fruiting bodies with thick white to gray stems and substantial caps. Blue to blue-gray coloration may become particularly prominent around the caps as specimens mature, creating the spectral appearance behind the Casper name.

Casper is also part of a newer generation of selectively developed P. cubensis genetics. Rather than being a geographically collected landrace variety, its history comes from deliberate genetic selection and crossing—making its lineage an important part of what distinguishes Casper from older varieties.
